Saul Rubinek Tribute

As TJFF premieres the new acclaimed Yiddish film, Shttl, featuring actor Saul Rubinek speaking in his first language, we pay tribute to the beloved and influential actor/writer/director. In addition to a special in-person discussion with Rubinek, TJFF explores how his screen persona emerged from some of his earliest roles in Canadian television. Offering a soulfulness and sponteineity to the role of the ‘Other,’ the actor brought to life an outsider as never before seen on Canadian screens.
