Support TJFF

Audience at KIDON screening

2023 marks our 31st anniversary, and TJFF has grown by leaps and bounds. Our annual Festival has become Canada’s largest and most pre-eminent Jewish cultural event. Also, our year-round programming continues to grow, reaching as far west as Vancouver and as far south as Florida!

Your support for our foundation ensures we can deliver the finest quality Jewish-content programming available and consistently expand our reach to new and younger audiences.

Why support TJFF?

The Toronto Jewish Film Foundation (TJFF) is an unaffiliated not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to using the power of film to connect, engage and inspire audiences with unique and varied stories of Jewish life, history and culture in Canada and beyond.

TJFF’s core programming includes:

  • Our world class Festival taking place June 1 to 11, 2023
    both in-theatre and online
  • Year-round Chai Tea Events and TJFF@Home Screenings
  • FilmMatters, our free educational outreach program
  • J-Flix the Foundation’s free innovative online streaming platform available across Canada

WAYS TO GIVE

GIFTS OF CASH

All gifts of $18 or greater made by cash, cheque or credit card are accompanied by a charitable tax receipt.

TAX PLANNING AND TJFF

GIFTING SECURITIES

There are many ways to donate to TJFF as a part of your larger financial and tax planning strategy.  With your donation of qualifying securities such as publicly traded shares and mutual fund trust units, you avoid the capital gains tax on these appreciated securities, and you also receive a donation receipt for the fair market value of your donated shares.  This tax credit can be used to reduce your income taxes in the year of your gift, or it can be carried forward for up to five additional years.

GIFT IN A WILL

A gift in your Will may specify a donation amount, a residual percentage of your estate or specific assets.  This gift qualifies for a charitable tax receipt to reduce taxes payable by your estate in the year of your death.

RRSP, RRIF, TFSA

You can also designate TJFF as a beneficiary of your RRSP, RRIF or TFSA. Your estate will receive a charitable tax receipt to reduce taxes payable upon death.

GIFT OF A LIFE INSURANCE POLICY

Designate TJFF as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.  Your estate will receive a charitable tax receipt at the time the benefit is paid out.

We are always happy to work with you and your advisors to maximize the impact of your gift as a part of your long-term financial plans.
