Description

In collaboration with the Prosserman JCC, this series showcases the excellence of Israeli cinema, fostering cultural connection.

In his most recent film performance, Sasson Gabai (The Band’s Visit, Karaoke) offers an immensely moving performance as Shimon, an Israeli who arrives in Paris to visit an old friend and spend time with his daughter, who has settled there with her husband and child. Once he begins to sense that something is wrong with her marriage, Shimon gets drawn into a secret life he never would have predicted. The subject of a recent retrospective at the Jerusalem Cinematheque, director Eitan Green (It All Begins at Sea, American Citizen) offers a sensitive examination of familial relationships that lives up to the best films of his forty-five year career. It is a film “about growing up late in life—and finding it is never too late.” (Eitan Green) The film also stars Sivan Levy, Albert Iluz and Evelin Hagoel.
