Description

“Beautiful, delicate and thoughtful” (Pablo Utin, Haaretz)
“Avi Nesher’s greatest film" (Yoav Ginai, Galei Zahal)

Award winning Israeli director and master storyteller Avi Nesher (Turn Left at the End of the World, Past Life) returns to TJFF with this moving blend of literary mystery, light comedy and endearing character study, drawn from real events. Long-time collaborator Adir Miller (The Matchmaker) plays Amitay, a once-famous author who seeks to revive his career in hopes of impressing Tamar (Shani Cohen), whom he has loved since childhood. After a scholar cancels their book about his literary oeuvre, Adir hires an actress to impersonate them and keep the project alive. Competing narratives collide with the truth, resulting in life-changing consequences for all.
