Description
In a Parisian milieu where anti-Semitic remarks are dropped as casually as gum wrappers, aspiring Parisian actor Maurice Kurtz (Stephane Freiss) is elated to have snared the movie role of Shylock in a film by famous American director Rudolph Grishenberg (Peter Coyote). It's the role of a lifetime. But before Maurice can even begin rehearsals, he loses the role and doesn't tell his wife (Berenice Bejo). Is it a sin to lie for love? This story in the O. Henry tradition of what lovers will do for and to each other has much to say about acting as a survival technique.
