Description
In his sensational directorial debut, Israeli filmmaker Assaf Lapid explores the mystery and myth of Ka.tzetnik, the pseudonym used by writer and survivor Yehiel De-Nur, whose lurid best-selling pulp-fiction books about Auschwitz shaped the way many understood the Holocaust. While giving testimony at Eichmann’s trial in Jerusalem in 1961, the revelation of Ka.tzetnik’s true identity causes his shocking collapse, followed by a complete psychological breakdown. A course of experimental LSD treatments designed specifically for concentration camp survivors leads to stunning revelations and perceptions about his time on what he calls ‘The Other Planet.’ Viewers will be unable to forget this film and its harrowing story.
