Description

"A gripping documentary thriller." (Mako)
"A mezmerizing film about a state falling apart." (
Ha'aretz)

Meet the man responsible for instituting “Bong Day” in Jerusalem. A saviour to some, a crime boss to others, Amos Dov Silver is a polarizing figure for Israelis. Leaving his Orthodox upbringing behind, he adopted a decidedly more secular kind of spirituality that marijuana had to offer. Sensing a need in the market, he created “Telegrass,” a mobile app that became the largest marketplace for drugs that are illegal in Israel. He was revered by many, particularly soldiers suffering from PTSD, but as his business grew, so did accusations of corruption. Dan Shadur’s (King Bibi) exciting documentary follows his trajectory from folk hero to enemy of the state, while also offering a unique and panoramic reflection on contemporary Israeli society.
