Description

A young Jewish artist forced to flee Nazi Germany, Oscar Cahén became a Prisoner of War in Canada, and, against all odds, emerged as a key figure in defining our nation’s cultural fabric. In his short but prolific career, Cahén designed over 38 magazine covers for Maclean’s and helped introduce abstract art to a very conservative 1950s Toronto.
