Description

Forty years after her death, Golda Meir’s image is still clouded with controversy. While perceived as a feminist icon in North America, in Israel—the country she led as a prime minister for five years—her legacy is more complicated. Based on never-before-seen materials, testimonies of supporters and opponents and rare archival footage, this new acclaimed Israeli documentary invites us to walk in her iconic shoes, and to reexamine her ground-breaking years as the only female prime minister of Israel.

Special Guest: Hana Werner, educator and lecturer specializing in the extraordinary achievements of Jewish leaders.
She was born in Israel and is fluent in both English and Hebrew. Hana often conducts programs exploring biblical texts fused with modern ideas and meaning for Jews in the 21st-century. She is a graduate of York University in the religious studies program and is passionate about adult education.
