Available online to viewers in Ontario from January 19 to February 1.

“This is the best dramatization of the life of the great Kafka that is possible to imagine, perfectly cast, stunningly acted, and weaving the work into the life with extraordinary skill. It does a great service to one of the true giants of 20th century literature.“ - Salman Rushdie

Discover the mystery and the scandals, the romance and imagination of the iconic author whose best known works — The Metamorphosis, The Castle, and The Trial — have had an everlasting impact on world literature. The mini-series explores the complex life of Franz Kafka, highlighting his tumultuous love affairs with Felice Bauer, Milena Jesenska, and Dora Diamant, his strained relationship with his tyrannical father, and his close friendship with Max Brod. Divided into six distinct episodes that each explore a defining aspect of his life and art, the series offers a surprising and unique glimpse into the mind of a genius who challenges those around him to see the world in ways they never have before.

Starring Joel Basman (The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch) and Liv Lisa Fries (Babylon Berlin, Freud's Last Session). Co-written by best-selling author Daniel Kehlmann (Measuring the World) and director David Schalko. Reiner Stach, author of the definitive Kafka biography, consulted on the series.
