Based on Lola Lafon’s book Quand tu écouteras cette chanson, this moving documentary follows the author spending a night alone in the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. Reflecting on Anne Frank’s life and diary, Lafon imagines a dialogue between her own experiences in 1980s Paris and the young writer whose life was cut short during the Holocaust. Through archival footage, shifting perspectives, and evocative montage, the film explores memory, identity, and the enduring symbolism of Anne Frank. As Lafon confronts her own Jewish identity and the persistence of antisemitism, the film reexamines Anne Frank beyond myth, reclaiming her story as both a literary voice and a human life.
