Description
Meet Josh Greene, a Southern-California based filmmaker and an avid surfer. As the narrator of this personal documentary, he investigates the antisemitic origins of his favourite pastime that involves swastikas carved into the first commercially-produced surfboards, the German-American bund and Hollywood’s first surf film. By speaking about his own experience and interviewing other Jewish surfers, Greene creates a very enlightening movie.
“Waves Apart is a short documentary that leaves a deep lingering impression, as if one had watched a much longer narrative. It is undoubtedly one of the best short documentaries that I’ve ever watched.”
