Winner, Jury Award for Best Film, Paris Israeli Film Festival
Duki Dror (Royal Swap and Inside the Mossad, TJFF 2019) examines the 75-year history of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), founded to assist Palestinian refugees after the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. Drawing on archival material, insider testimony, and contrasting viewpoints, the film explores how the agency evolved into a large and controversial institution. In the wake of the October 7 attacks and allegations involving UNRWA staff, the documentary revisits long-standing criticisms of the organization’s structure, politics, and role in perpetuating refugee status across generations. Winner of the Haifa International Film Festival’s Investigative Documentary Award, the film raises urgent questions about humanitarian aid, political responsibility, and whether the agency still fulfills its original mission.
