Chosen as the closing night film at the Cannes Festival, The Specials (Hors Normes) is a heartfelt drama inspired by a true story. Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Eastern Promises) plays Bruno, a Jewish man who runs a shelter for autistic teens turned away from other institutions. His friend Malik (Reda Kateb, A Prophet) is a Muslim who runs a non-profit that trains disadvantaged teenagers to be caregivers. Frustrated by lack of funding, the two men join forces to confront systemic neglect and fight for those marginalized by society. Directed by the popular duo behind the French smash hit, The Intouchables.
Nominated for 9 César awards.
