Description

This award-winning and heart-warming film directed by Dana Modan (star of the TV hits Significant Other and Florentine) is adapted from her sister Rutu’s successful 2013 graphic novel. The story follows the emotional journey of Regina (played by comedy veteran Rivka Michael), a grieving Israeli mother who travels back to Poland with her granddaughter, Mika (Sharon Strimban) to reclaim a family flat that was lost during the Holocaust. Their different methods of coping with grief and trauma take them in separate directions, in pursuit of their own secret agendas. Unexpected encounters with locals connected to the past open a path towards reparation, reconciliation and renewed romance.
ASL Interpretation available for introduction and post-film Q&A (June 8 only).
