Description

A masterful and incisive storyteller, Danae Elon (P.S. Jerusalem, Another Road Home) offers a unique portrait of Jerusalem, allowing us incredible access to the political machinations in the Holy City. In this ground- breaking documentary, Jerusalem-born but Montreal-based director Elon investigates the controversial dethroning of the last Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, inextricably connected to activities of the Israeli Secret Service, Jewish settlers, and Palestinian Christians. It is impossible to understand the Israeli-Palestinian conflict without considering the Greek Orthodox Church, which remains the oldest and third most powerful private land owner in Israel/Palestine.
