Description

A sober, unvarnished portrait of Amos Oz, as Yair Qedar’s documentary examines the writer’s complicated life and stellar career. Behind the celebrated author’s success, lurked both the tragedy of his mother’s suicide and his daughter’s accusation of abuse. The film deftly weaves Oz’s conversations with insightful commentary from his literary peers, including David Grossman and Etgar Keret, as well as actress Natalie Portman who directed his masterpiece, A Tale of Love and Darkness. Each of them pays testimony to Oz’s singular impact on Israeli culture and politics.
