Description

Following the success of their award-winning webseries “Yidlife Crisis’, the Montreal natives Eli Batalion and Jamie Elman turn their unique (gefilte) fish-out-of-water perspective to Sweden. They travel to Stockholm to prepare for a comedy show while exploring 250 years of Swedish Jewish history. Noshing and shmoozing their way through the city, they unearth enlightening facts about the community’s capacity for survival throughout periods of persecution, as well as the revival of Yiddish culture currently happening in Sweden where Yiddish is a protected language. Who knew? In their singularly charming way, Batalion and Elman deliver a feel-good portrait of a diverse and thriving minority.
