Description

Serving as co-director and associate producer, Marilyn Lighstone was a key force behind the critically-acclaimed series, Spoken Art, made during the artistic heyday of the Canadian Bravo channel. This anthology series consisted of spellbinding monologues performed by some of Canada’s greatest acting talent. Peter Boretski received a Gemini nomination for his performance in the episode “A Letter to Harvey Milk,” an adaptation of Lesléa Newman’s short story. Harry Weinberg, an elderly Jewish man in San Francisco, begins a creative writing class and writes about his friendship with Harvey Milk, prompting him to reflect on the dark revelation of another close friend. “Boretski is mesmerizing, full of wit and compassion.” (John Haslett Cuff, The Globe and Mail)

Part of the special archival series, HONOURING MARILYN LIGHSTONE.
