Description

A bold and gritty TV production, this CBC adaptation of William Hanley’s critically-acclaimed off-broadway play marked Marilyn Lightstone’s first major onscreen role, and co-stars a very young Billy Dee Williams. In a sleazy unnamed New York district as news of the Eichmann execution is spreading around the world, three individuals—played by Lightstone, Williams and Gillie Fenwick—meet and are forced to reflect on the guilt which haunts them. “Produced and directed with great sensitivity by Melwin Breen, Hanley’s play emerged with its essential theatricality intact—in the sense that it remained a stage play rather than a film—yet remarkably fluid in action and intensely personal as a TV experience.” (The Ottawa Citizen)
