Description

A lush travelogue, Sacred Spaces charts three thousand years of Jewish Diaspora through places of worship. Beginning in Jerusalem with the historic significance of the destroyed temples and remaining Western Wall, the film travels to Tunisia, Cordoba, Toledo, Amsterdam, Venice and Budapest where the synagogues attest to the history of European Jewry. The journey culminates with the Philadelphia synagogue designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. A profound exploration of how Jewish sacred spaces have figured in the transmission of Jewish values through the ages.
