Description
Discover this hidden gem from the golden age of anthology television in Israel when producers like Renen Schorr were looking to give opportunities to up-and-coming directors to develop their craft in the expanding television industry. Before being known for films like A Quiet Heart, Eitan Anner directed Sasson Gabbay and Sandra Sade in Poker Face, a touching love story based on his grandparents. For sixteen years, Anna and Alex have played poker with three other couples every Friday. However, Alex’s early Alzheimer’s is making the group consider whether he will have to give up his seat at the table, prompting his wife to quietly fight to maintain this comforting ritual for him.
Part of the series, Artist in Residence: Sasson Gabay sponsored by Kultura Collective, with contributing support from Canada-Israel Cultural Foundation.
