Description

Director Jake Paltrow’s (De Palma) thought-provoking historical drama revisits the trial of Adolf Eichmann through the eyes of three disparate characters: Eichmann’s Moroccan prison guard, a 13-year old Libyan immigrant and a Polish survivor who was Eichmann’s chief interrogator. By shifting the focus from Eichmann’s crimes to the impact that the trial had on the nascent Israeli state, Paltrow effectively explores new possibilities for interpreting history, especially with regard to the identity of a Jewish nation created from diverse groups across the diaspora. Infused with 1960s Israeli nostalgia, the film perfectly captures this seminal moment in history.

Review "This earnest drama wears its politics very much on its sleeve — and makes no apologies for doing so.", - Screen Daily
