Description
Based on the memoirs of Vasily Kulikov, this epic historical drama portrays the early stages of the Nazi occupation of Vinnytsia, a city in Central Ukraine, and its impact on the local Jewish community. Shot in stunning black and white, the film powerfully captures the horrors of the Holocaust. Among the stories it brings to light is that of Sioma, a young Jewish boy forced to hide in his gentile neighbour’s attic. Released domestically on the eve of the current Russian invasion, Echoing takes on unexpected relevance.
