Description

Long thought lost, these two short films were only recently discovered and have been called “Dead Sea Scrolls of the film world.” Looking for employment as a screenwriter for hire while living in London, Mordecai Richler found work on these two short films starring a young comedian, Peter Sellers, who was then making his transition from radio to the big screen. Co-written by Richler alongside another young writer Lewis Greifer and directed by Leslie Arliss (the James Mason version of The Wicked Lady), both films feature Sellers as a character named Hector Dimwittie, a man apprehensively struggling to adapt to work and marriage.
