Description

Best known worldwide for his film A Man and a Woman, winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Screenplay, Claude Lelouch is one of France’s most accomplished directors. Through exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen interviews, this engrossing documentary revisits the career of France’s most prolific filmmaker, who has directed over 50 films in 60 years and continues to create today. Lelouch shares some of his most personal memories including his ongoing trauma from growing up Jewish in Nazi-Occupied France, which remains a central theme in many of his films–most famously in the internally-acclaimed Les Miserables starring Jean-Paul Belmondo.
