This Academy Award–nominated documentary short by Hilla Medalia (Censored Voices, TJFF2015) observes a silent vigil that began in Tel Aviv in March 2025. A small group of activists stand in a public square holding large photographs of children killed in Gaza. As the weeks pass, more images are added and more people join the protest. Each passersby responds differently—some look away, while others react with grief, anger, or denial. Observational in style, the documentary captures the emotional tensions surrounding the war and the courage of those who publicly mourn its victims. Through quiet acts of remembrance, the vigil becomes a powerful statement about loss, empathy, and the human cost of conflict.
