Description

Considered one of the greatest Danish novels, Lykke-Per by Nobel Prize-winning author Henrik Pontoppidan is translated to the screen by Academy Award-winning director Bille August (Pelle the Conquerer). Per Sidenius, an aspiring engineer, renounces his rural Lutheran upbringing to pursue a career in Copenhagen. His progressive ideas are embraced by the Salamons, a cosmopolitan Jewish banking family, and Per becomes engaged to their eldest daughter. Ambition gets the better of him and just as he is on the brink of success, Per sabotages his future. An epic story spanning decades, A Fortunate Man is a visual feast that demands to be seen on the big screen.

*Wed May 8 screening of A Fortunate Man has been replaced by FIDDLER: A MIRACLE OF MIRACLES.
