Membership/Donations   Sponsorship   Advertising Opportunities   Volunteering

Each year the Toronto Jewish Film Festival (TJFF) presents the best in Jewish content films from around the world. We also invite filmmakers to engage with our audiences in post-screening discussions.   As well TJFF hosts year-round events events. Our volunteers are crucial to the smooth running of this the fourth largest film Festival in the city of Toronto. The experience of volunteering is exciting, rewarding and challenging. We look forward to having you join our team.

Where is the Festival?

Volunteers have a choice of volunteering at various locations around the city such as: the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema (Bloor St. and Bathurst), Innis Town Hall  (Sussex Ave. and St. George St.), Cineplex Cinemas Empress Walk or the and/or The ROM Eaton Theare. The choice is up to the volunteer and the Festival’s needs.

How much time?

Volunteers usually volunteer for at least three four-hour shifts. The times will vary according to the location. We aim to balance volunteer choice and Festival needs.

What are we looking for volunteers to do?

Volunteer jobs are varied. During the festival we welcome our audience like family – Duties can include ticket takers, line monitors, guest greeters, ushers, nosh handlers, and distribute and collect surveys. The volunteers that we are looking for have good people skills, enjoy a festival-charged atmosphere, and work well under pressure.

What are the rewards?

For your help, you will receive one festival movie pass per shift, a chance to meet new people, networking opportunities for those in the film industry, experiences useful for resumes and valuable skills gained from working for a major film festival, an elegant (one-of-a-kind) TJFF t-shirt, and finally not to forget, the leftover noshes. At the end of the Festival, volunteers are invited to an appreciation bar-b-q.

To register as a volunteer contact, Phyllis Angel Greenberg, Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@tjff.ca or call 416-324-9121 and leave us your contact information.
