What makes attending a TJFF screening different from any other movie?
The director, members of the cast, or stimulating guest speakers are often on hand for a Q & A following the screening.
The films are chosen from thousands of submissions from all over the world, offering a multitude of perspectives and experiences.
Many of the films are a Canadian, North American, International  or even a World Premiere.

Why do I have to vacate the theatre after a festival screening when I am planning on attending the next film being shown?
All of the theatres must be emptied after each screening to comply with fire regulations and to allow the cleaning crew to ready the cinema for the next group coming in. Don't worry though, if you have a ticket then we will have a seat for you!
Buy a Festival Pass, see all the films you want to see, and move to the front of the line!

What if I would like to stay at the theatre for the next screening but I don't have a ticket yet?
Many films sell out, so we recommend making buying your tickets in advance.  However, we will always try to do our best to accommodate our clientele and therefore 30 minutes prior to each screening the theatre box office will only be selling tickets for that film.

What does it mean when a film has "gone to RUSH"?
This means that our box office indicates that all tickets for a screening have been accounted for.  However, tickets that are not redeemed will be released 20 minutes prior to a screening to those waiting in the "Rush Line".

What happens if it rains?
Please come prepared for the weather (bring a rain jacket and umbrella if necessary). We will do our best to seat you as soon as possible, however, security at the theatres will not allow us to move additional people inside until the theatre has been prepped

Are the films rated?
Many of our films have not yet been reviewed by the Motion Picture Association of America and therefore do not have a MPAA rating (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17). However, the film information provided in the Online Film Guide and the printed Festival Guide will help you make an informed choice.
